Volunteering at the Food Pantry

The Larchmont Mamaroneck Hunger Task Force is looking for individuals to work
at the Food Pantry on an ongoing or occasional basis. We need your help, but it is important that you contact us before you come! Due to limited space we can only accept a certain number of volunteers at a time. See the different job descriptions below and use the contact information listed if you are interested. Be sure to check our Calendar for the dates when the Pantry is operating.

In addition to volunteering at the Food Pantry on either Tuesday or Wednesday,
the Mobile Food Pantry and the Fresh Market produce distribution offer the opportunity to volunteer on Saturdays. These events are also an ideal way for parents and their kids to perform community service together.  For more information, scroll down to the bottom of this page. Important: If you would like to volunteer, please sign up in advance.

The Food Pantry operates at the Community Resource Center, 134 Center Avenue in Mamaroneck, in the basement. Center Avenue is a one-way street starting at the intersection of Old White Plains Road and Mamaroneck Avenue. Parking is easiest by the bend on Mamaroneck Avenue (walk a half a block up
Center Avenue).

Mobile Food Pantry

Once a month on Saturdays, a 36-foot refrigerated truck arrives on Van Ranst Place alongside Columbus Park in Mamaroneck to distribute food to the community. From 12:30-2:30pm volunteers help set up the tables with a large variety of food and then distibute it to local residents. While open to all volunteers, the Saturday event is a great opportunity for families to volunteer together. Check the Calendar page for the dates. To volunteer: malcolm.frouman@LMfoodpantry.org

Fresh Market produce distribution

On the last Saturday of the month in the covered parking area of the Open Door Family Medical Center at 689 Mamaroneck volunteers can help distribute over 10,000 pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables to the community. Another great opportunity for families to volunteer together. You can sign up for one or both two-hour shifts. Check the Calendar page for the dates. To volunteer: malcolm.frouman@LMfoodpantry.org
